Anil plays the role of Shaili Rungta, an important character in the story. Anil is playing the role of a villain in the series and he is playing a character which is different from his previous roles. As an actor, he is exploring his gray side in the show and seems to be doing justice to his character as a gambler and ruthless businessman. He shared that originally there was another name for his character, but he suggested this particular name.

We cast Anil Kapoor as Shelly Rungta, said Sandeep. By the way, the name Rungta comes from them. Earlier it was called something else.
